The image is drawn lightly with a 2b pencil and then after masking out any highlights, the paper is wet all over and a light impression of the subject is placed. I travel from top to bottom. Main colours used are Cobalt blue, cadmium orange, raw sienna and ultramarine violet.

Hi Peter, technical question - how did you stop the reds seeping into the blue when you did the tower. Did you take the blue all the way down across the sketch in graded walk and then add the reds? If so, how did you stop it going purply? (if that last is actually a word!)
