Each year I tutor a small number of painting breaks. The number of people is kept small (around 6 to 12 painters) and this means that the skill base varies from novice to more serious painters. My time is split between demonstrating and individual tuition. I consider these breaks  a chance to give something back to the craft, and can be as laid back or serious as the course dictates. It is always useful for me to see a portfolio, so don't be shy and bring one if you have one (a portfolio enables me to instantly access the students level).

These courses concentrate on the fundamentals of sound watercolour technique with a full understanding of drawing and its role in traditional painting.

Through demonstrations, critiques and practical advice we shall explore both the various facets of painting in pure luminous watercolour and the language of drawing (how drawing can be broken down into four basic elements)

The content is delivered in a clear, simple manner that guarantees progression however novice or advanced the student.

The intention is to work in natures studio, the great out doors, as the weather permits and we shall be using pencil, pen and wash, and of course pure clean watercolour.
