One of the few good things to come out of the covid pandemic for many people has been the Zoom Class, where you can sit in your own home and take part in creative activity.
I took the plunge into providing Zoom classes with some trepidation, but it has been a joy to meet folk from all over the globe and help them with their painting and drawing progress. I shall be starting two new sessions, of ten weeks duration on February 21st, and you are welcome to join me. The details are explained below.

Note. These sessions are not for absolute beginners. If you are a novice or have not sketched or painted in watercolour before, then you will first need to purchase and study ‘An introduction to sketching’ and/or ‘Beginners please’. Both can be found on the Videos page of this website
Alternatively, you may wish to purchase one of my two books ‘Sketching for the absolute beginner’ and/or ‘Pure Watercolour painting’.
I know that it sounds like I am trying to flog you stuff, but you really would get a good grounding in sketching and painting techniques from the videos or books, and you could then join the classes with more knowledge and confidence.

New. If for any reason you cannot make a session you will now have permanent access to a recording of each session.

The Classes
Painting
10 – 12 noon (UK time) Wednesday. Morning class.
Each week we shall paint a full watercolour painting together, and I shall explain and demonstrate the processes involved.
A day or two prior to each class you will be sent either a sketch or photograph of the week’s topic. You will need to have this sketched out on your watercolour paper before the start of the class.
We tend to start by discussing the topic and then we paint it up ‘stage by stage’ with me commenting on methods and techniques used.

The price for the Ten weeks is £150 UK Stirling


Class Recordings
A link to a recording of each class will be sent (the next day whenever possible) and it will now be permanently available. (well, for years not weeks)

All classes run for ten weeks. In the event of a class being cancelled by myself (due to illness for example) it will be added to the end of the course.

If (and it has only happened once)my zoom connection fails and I cannot reconnect within a ten minute period, I shall finish the session and send the recording as soon as possible.

You must have zoom installed on your device and you must be familiar with zoom basics, such as signing in, enabling your camera and mic. Etc.

You will be sent a link to a re accruing meeting that you can use to sign in with each week.
The meeting will be open at least 15 minuets prior to the start and you should sign into the waiting room early in case of issues that may occur. If you have not signed in by the time of the meeting you may miss a portion of the class as it is hard to teach and keep an eye on the waiting room at the same time.
